 How To Learn English Fast?

Learn English by focusing on content, not grammar. What do I mean by content?  I mean, learn English by focusing on meaningful communication and meaningful information.

Most schools, and most students, focus on the mechanics of the language.  They study verb conjugations. They study the “rules” of prepositions.  They analyze the language as if it was a dead thing.

All of these traditional methods are analytical.

But English is not a dead thing to analyze- it is a living language.  It is a means of communication.

Your brain is naturally fantastic at learning languages.  Your brain is created to learn languages.  But you must learn in ways that are friendly to your brain.

If you bore your brain with rules, you will learn slowly.  If you try to analyze the language, you will learn slowly. If you try to memorize vocabulary, you will learn slowly. If you study textbooks and take tests, you will learn slowly.

Your brain is a super-fast English learning machine– use it correctly and you will learn super-fast!

Here’s how to make your brain happy and learn English fast:

• Learn with stories.  Our brains love stories– its the oldest, most natural form of communication.

• Focus on meaning, not form.  In other words, don’t worry about grammar rules. Focus instead on understanding and being understood.

• Listen to the music of English carefully.  To improve pronunciation, listen very carefully to the intonation of English speakers– pretend you are listening to music.

• Choose content you love.  Only listen to and read English content that is interesting, meaningful, or funny to you.   If you don’t enjoy it– find something else!

• Read easy novels, not textbooks.  Again, the brain loves stories and hates boring drills.  Burn your textbooks…  read easy, fun, interesting English novels instead.  Read a lot of them!

• Make friends, join a community.  English is for communication– so communicate with other English speakers!   Forget about mistakes. Forget about grammar. Just relax and communicate!

By smiling, having fun, and focusing on meaningful content, you will make your brain happy.  And a happy brain learns very fast.

How to improve my English pronunciation?

Hola! Ahora una pregunta que me hacen con frecuencia es ¿Cual es la mejor forma para mejorar mi pronunciación? 

Bien mi primer consejo es que intenten aprender cada sonido diferente del Inglés y para aprender cada sonido del Inglés es muy útil aprender cada símbolo que representa estos sonidos del Inglés.

Por que necesitamos diferentes sonidos??? (escuche tu pregunta)

Bien, en Inglés escrito usamos 26 letras del alfabeto, pero hay mas de 26 sonidos en Inglés; de hecho hay mas de 40 sonidos en Inglés y no nos es fácil mostrártelos usando solo las letras del alfabeto.

Así que hay un sistema que usa un grupo de símbolos, algunos son las mismas letras y otros son diferentes.

Podes usar los símbolos para escribir la pronunciación de palabras y en muchos diccionarios para estudiantes de ingles, las palabras están escritas usando estos símbolos para mostrarte que es el sonido que esta escrito y no las letras, las transcripciones están escritas entre barras ( /  /), por ejemplo la pronunciación de la palabra pet es escrita así /pet/. En este ejemplo los símbolos de sonido lucen iguales a los símbolos de las letras, tu puedes decir que estas hablando de la pronunciación y no de la escritura por las barras  (/pet/).

Sin embargo muchas palabras lucen diferente cuando ves su pronunciacion, mira esta /'knolidz/ ¿tenes alguna idea de cual es?.....es la palabra knowledge y como podes ver es muy diferente a su escritura. Por este motivo es que es muy útil aprender estos símbolos, ya que podes unir las letras de esas palabras con los sonidos

Así que si querés mejorar tu pronunciacion inglesa, deberías aprender los diferentes sonidos, y si querés aprender los diferentes sonidos, deberías aprender los símbolos.

Y aquí las buenas noticias!!! Si sabes los símbolos de los sonidos seras capaz de usar cualquier  diccionario para averiguar la pronunciación de cualquier palabra en Inglés y no necesitaras una profesora.

**Think about grammar sometimes, other times just relax and speak.

**Use simple Language, vocabulary you already know

**Don't spend long time searching for the right word or phrase, just think of another word or phrase to say the same thing

**If you don't know what to say, use gestures instead of silence. it's not incorrect to say mmmm or ehhh...this makes your speaking sound natural.

** Be confident

**Don't be afraid of making mistakes

**Enjoy speaking, it isn't a test
